The North Dutch Orchestra
The Noord Nederlands Orkest brings two very different but equally fantastic singers to the Lauswolt Summer Concert, for a festive afternoon where opera, classical and rock go hand in hand. Soprano Leonor Amaral sings the most beautiful opera arias by Bellini, Puccini and Purcell, alongside some seductive Spanish zarzuela.
After intermission, rock singer Anneke van Giersbergen takes the stage with rather diverse rock hits. With Metallica's ballad Nothing Else Matters, Avicii's Addicted to you and Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights, the former frontwoman of metal band The Gathering shows that she was not asked to join the TV show The Best Singers for nothing.
The Noord Nederlands Orkest and conductor Dirk Brossé accompany the two singers and in between they show the versatility of classical music. With a special role for the percussionists of the orchestra, it promises to be a smashing concert.
