Friesland is easily accessible and has excellent infrastructure. You can be on Frisian soil with both feet within an hour from Amsterdam; that is, if you don't stop every so often to enjoy the view. Half an hour further and you're in downtown Leeuwarden. You don't even have to stand in traffic jams. The parking fees make you spontaneously smile and parking is plentiful. Friesland is just an hour's drive from Amsterdam Schiphol international airport. Intercity trains connect Leeuwarden and Heerenveen with the rest of the Netherlands while you enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Travel easily to Friesland by train. There are direct connections from Schiphol Airport to Heerenveen, Grou, and Leeuwarden (1.5–2 hours). From Groningen, you can reach Leeuwarden in just 30 minutes. From there, you can continue your journey by train to Frisian towns such as Sneek, Harlingen, Workum, and Hindeloopen. Just hop off the train and you’re right where you want to be.
