In October is the annual clean-up celebration Skjin Wetter! This year you can participate in nine Frisian municipalities with your club, association, organization, company, school, etc. Every year Skjin Wetter gets bigger and more people help to clean (and keep clean!) the Fryske waters. Last year no less than 842 kilometers of canals, channels, ditches, lakes, roadsides and banks were cleaned.
Skjin Wetter takes place this year in 9 Frisian municipalities! Dantumadiel, De Fryske Marren, Harlingen, Noardeast-Fryslân, Heerenveen, Smallingerland, Waadhoeke, Leeuwarden, Tytsjerksteradiel and Súdwest-Fryslân are participating. Skjin Wetter is an initiative of these nine municipalities, Wetterskip Fryslân and the Frisian Environmental Federation (FMF).
